The wedding.

Hello all :)

This is the year of the wedding, so I am busy researching and booking left, right and centre!! With just over 7 months to go until the big day, and time passing by in a blur, now is the time for me to begin the invitation sets.

Back in August last year, with 12 months to go, I sent out save the date cards to the friends and family we hope will be our guests...

As you will soon come to realise, I love to make things, so it was not a surprise to our loved ones that I decided to make our invitations by hand. And boy did it take a lot of time!! But I think it was totally worth it in the end.

Our wedding reception is to be held in a converted barn, the flowers will be very 'English Country Garden' so it seemed fitting to go with a recycled natural card. Fuchsia is one of my favourite colours and I love the bright impact it makes set against a very neutral background – and how intriguing will it be to see a bright pink envelope drop through your letterbox!

The format is tiny, so it fits nicely in your hand, and opens to reveal a satin ribbon that forms a knot (tying the knot...). Touches of foiling make the invitation feel more special. The love birds were drawn by Steph (Steph Loves to Draw) and I adore them! Here is the final result...

Can't wait to start the main invitations!!

love Danielle x
